I really enjoyed our visit to the Blink Ink Studio! It was interesting to compare their studio/team to my time at Golden Wolf. It seemed like a much bigger building and team. They’re work was amazing and I really enjoyed seeing into their filming spaces. I’ve never had much interest in puppetry but the talk really sparked my interest. I think I would enjoy being a studio assistant at a studio like Blink Ink, it had a similar casual and creative atmosphere to GW.
Apparently they’re a predominantly freelancer team which made me consider what kind of work I would prefer. I think I would rather work full-time for a studio, which with production is very possible. I did work with freelance producers/production coords/production managers at GW and they were great. I think there is a certain comfort in knowing the team you’re working with and then getting to know the freelancers joining you per project.
