I LOVE CHARACTER DESIGN! The character design session was very fun and informative! I learnt a lot about storytelling through character design and getting feedback on my characters from Bianca was really useful. My background is in illustrating, specifically character art and so I was in my element with this task. I have gone with a vampire character that I designed to become a 3D model. A strong and recognisable silhouette is important with character design and I believe I have achieved this. I would like to go back and look at some alternative colour pallets but I am mostly pleased with the nautical connotations that come from the navy and white theme.
Below is a character I developed previously, I got feedback on her design from Bianca and has informed my approach to character design. She mentioned the character’s environment (underground) and how that would impact her skin, eyes etc. This is something I’ll look for more in the future when designing.
